Janene Hancock (M.Ed)

Janene has a Bachelor of Education specialising in Early Childhood with a double major in Social Science and Literacy. 

She holds a Master of Education in Special Education, Literacy, Gender and TESOL, and is currently the highest qualified Tasmanian Aboriginal teacher. She is currently studying for a Doctorate at the University of Tasmania.

Janene adds definitive qualities as she is a Tasmanian Aboriginal Teacher who has worked in Aboriginal schools in the Northern Territory. She understands the need to educate children into the diversity of Aboriginal Culture. 

Janene has four years teaching experience, and is currently studying for her doctorate in Gender Studies. She brings the very latest teaching methods to our educational components. Janene's expertise is in children's learning, which she utilizes in the teacher's resources

As a specialist teacher she has taught Flying Start/PASS at Risdon Vale Primary School. At the Elliott Community Education Centre (Northern Territory) she taught a Transition/Years One and Two. She was also Harassment Officer, Physical Education Co-ordinator, Resource Officer for the Staff Room, Culture Program Co-ordinator, co-writer of the Gender Equity Policy for Elliott C.E.C, co-writer of the Health and Safety Policy for the Primary Section. 

Employed at Rokeby Primary School as a Specialist Teacher, she was part of the Aboriginal Student Development Program, developing and implementing an Aboriginal Studies Program, as well as improving numeracy and literacy skills of Grade 5 students with special needs -

She has also been the tutor at the Risdon Vale Homework Centre, Campbell Street Primary School, and Post Primary students at the Elliott Home Work Centre
